26 Assessment & Quiz Examples for Lead Generation in 2026

Turn curiosity into leads, audience insight & better buyer journeys in the age of AI.

A swipe file of assessments being used to diagnose, personalize, segment, qualify, recommend and sell. Want one built around your own IP, offers and buyers?

26 examples • quizzes • diagnostics • scorecards • AI-powered assessments

The lead magnet has a new job.

For years, the formula was pretty straightforward:

Make a PDF or webinar. Teach something useful. Get the email address. Hope they eventually buy.

This can still work, but there are just a lot more interesting things we can do now, especially when our new reality is that great information is no longer a differentiator.

Information got cheap.

Your buyer does not need another PDF called 5 Ways to Improve Your Marriage.

They can ask ChatGPT before breakfast and get the equivalent to a John Gray book.

What they still very much want is an answer to:

Okay… what does this mean for ME, not from a jumble of sources, but from a trustworthy and established expert who knows how to get someone from point A to B?

  • Where am I right now?
  • What am I missing?
  • Why isn’t this working?
  • Which path makes sense for me?
  • What should I do next?

That’s where assessments get juicy.

You’re taking your expertise, framework or way of thinking and applying it to their situation.

Much harder to replace with “give me 25 ideas for…” in Claude.

What’s possible with custom assessments, quizzes, and diagnostics has expanded fast.

A few years ago, the minute you wanted to go beyond a fairly standard quiz, things got expensive.

Custom scoring logic. Calculators. Branching. Personalized recommendations. Generated reports. Integrations. Custom code.

You were usually choosing between the limits of whatever quiz platform you were paying for or hiring a developer for a custom build.

AI has changed the economics of that dramatically.

Depending on what you’re building, you can now have:

  • A completely custom experience instead of another quiz template
  • Much more control over how the experience looks and feels
  • First-party data going directly into systems you control
  • Scoring and branching based on someone’s answers
  • AI interpreting open-ended responses
  • Personalized recommendations, reports, or plans
  • Different follow-up depending on what someone tells you
  • An assessment that creates a custom resource for them on the spot
  • Far less dependence on paying a quiz SaaS forever just to keep the thing running

The interesting part is that something which once would have required a fairly serious custom software budget may now be completely reasonable for a small expert business to build.

That opens up a LOT of possibilities.

So… what can an assessment actually DO in 2026?

A lot more than assign someone one of 4 personality types.

  • It can diagnose a problem.
  • Put a dollar amount on it.
  • Identify a pattern.
  • Recommend their next move.
  • Choose the best offer for them.
  • Analyze something they submit.
  • Create a customized plan.
  • Generate an asset they can immediately use.
  • Turn your methodology into language people remember and insights they can immediately apply to their situation.

And increasingly, the result is the very beginning of what the assessment does.

  • Send follow-up that speaks directly to their specific problem, stage or result.
  • Route different segments into different email sequences, offers or sales journeys.
  • Identify the people who are genuinely ready for a sales conversation and stop filling your calendar with people who aren’t there yet.
  • Change the offer, proof, objections and examples someone sees based on what they told you.
  • Flag high-intent or high-value leads for personal follow-up.
  • Learn which segments convert best, buy what, and get the strongest results over time.
  • Use the language people give you to improve your messaging, content and offers.
  • Keep personalizing the buyer journey long after they finish the assessment.

Holy checkmarks.

That’s where I think this category gets especially fun.

As you go through the examples below, don’t just copy the result names or questions. Look at the mechanism.

What does your ideal buyer desperately want to know about themselves?

On the flip side, what would be extremely useful for the business to know about them?

There’s usually something interesting sitting in the overlap.

Alright, I know this is the preamble of a 2016 recipe post, let’s look at some assessments in the wild.

The Swipe File

26 examples of smart businesses using assessments to create self-recognition, segment demand, and move qualified people toward the next step in 2026

01

NurtureKit: There Are 4 Types of Email Marketer. Which One Are You?

See the quiz

This one identifies your email marketing type and gives you a corresponding game plan.

The useful bit here is the segmentation.

Someone who sends an email every 6 weeks needs a very different conversation from someone with sophisticated automations and a list doing $500K a year.

An assessment can figure that out before either person enters your funnel.

Steal this

Segment people based on the advice they actually need.

02

Growth in Reverse: How Many Subscribers Are You Losing Every Month?

See the quiz

This turns newsletter disengagement into an estimated number of subscribers you could be losing.

Way more visceral than telling somebody their “engagement could improve.”

Numbers are especially useful when the problem normally stays invisible.

Steal this

If you can calculate the cost of a problem, do it.

03

Leanne Mosley: Rich Queen Messaging Archetype Quiz

See the quiz
Rich Queen Million Dollar Messaging Archetype Quiz cover by Leanne Lopez Mosley

Messaging is fuzzy.

Giving someone an archetype makes it much easier to recognize their tendencies and remember the advice attached to them.

This is one reason identity-style quizzes keep working even though they’ve been around forever. Everyone’s favorite topic whether they want to admit it or not is themselves.

Steal this

Look for parts of your methodology that could become a memorable identity.

04

James Smith: How Much Is Your Business Leaving On the Table?

See the assessment

James has a huge audience. A huge audience also contains a lot of people who like your content and have zero intention of buying anything.

The assessment creates a useful step between consuming his stuff and exploring business mentorship.

Now the person has done something. They’ve answered questions. Declared what they want. Given information about where they are.

Despite his massive social audience, James is a vocal proponent for going all in on email and now he has a way to increase his conversions, open rates, and delivery with this asset feeding all of it.

Steal this

Use an assessment to identify intent inside a large audience.

05

Ali Abdaal: YouTube Growth Potential

See the assessment
Ali Abdaal's YouTube Growth Potential quiz showing a radar chart and a 79% overall score

“Growth potential” is a clever premise.

You obviously want to know how much potential you have. The result also naturally identifies the things currently holding that growth back.

Conveniently, those gaps are the exact territory his paid education can help with. Ali’s landing page does a great job of seeding the sale on the other side of the assessment.

Steal this

Assess the gap your paid offer already solves.

06

The Lazy Millionaire: Is a Digital Course Right for You?

See the quiz

This helps someone figure out whether creating a digital course makes sense for them.

I like the qualification angle.

Selling something harder isn’t always improved by getting more people into the funnel. Sometimes the better front end helps people determine whether the thing is right for them in the first place.

Caveat with this example: this is the kind of thing you can create with Claude and an idea. This quiz is nowhere near as good as it could be. If I were creating an assessment for Ami I would optimize this for better data collection and conversions.

Steal this

If your offer has clear fit criteria, turn those criteria into an assessment.

07

PodMatch: What Type of Podcaster Are You?

See the assessment

PodMatch uses personality and style information in a product where matching people is already central to the experience.

So the assessment has a job beyond lead generation. The information can also improve what happens once the person joins.

That’s a category worth thinking about.

Steal this

Ask whether answers collected during acquisition could also make your product better.

08

The Leveraged Business Assessment

See the assessment

This measures whether a business owner is ready to scale toward 7 figures.

Readiness assessments are sneaky good.

Someone wants the outcome, which gives them a reason to take the assessment. Their result tells them whether they have the conditions to pursue it yet which creates a very natural segue into a sales conversation.

Steal this

Assess readiness for the thing your buyer already wants.

09

DTC Patterns: eCommerce Quiz Collection

See the collection
DTC Patterns collection of ecommerce quizzes from Ruggable, Hero Cosmetics and Jewels & Aces

Assessments aren’t reserved for coaches asking which entrepreneur archetype you are.

This is a collection of eComm quizzes from big brands like The Ordinary, Ruggable, Ouai, Brooklinen, Hum Nutrition, and more.

Ecommerce, SaaS, agencies, service businesses, health companies, financial businesses… anywhere there’s a decision or diagnosis, there’s an angle.

Steal this

Look at the decisions your buyer struggles to make.

10

Jenna Kutcher: Ready to Level Up?

See the quiz

Jenna’s audience is huge and includes people at wildly different stages of business and many with no business at all.

The quiz figures out where someone is first. Simple, commercially useful, and leave it to Jenna to make the whole experience feel like you’re chatting with your highly successful big sister.

Steal this

Let people tell you their level before deciding what you send them.

11

Arthur Brooks: The Happiness Scale

See the assessment (paid)

This is a 40-question assessment that gives you an overall well-being score, scores across enjoyment, satisfaction and meaning, and one of 4 emotional profiles. It also benchmarks your results against a broader population and gives you personalized guidance based on the profile.

What I like here is how much more substantial it feels than a typical personality quiz.

There’s a score. Benchmarking. A named profile. Specific strengths and weaknesses. Guidance on what to focus on next.

And because Arthur Brooks already has a large body of work around happiness, meaning and well-being, the assessment gives people a very concrete way to enter that world through their own data.

Steal this

If your IP has multiple dimensions, score them separately. A richer result can show someone where the opportunity is, not simply hand them a type.

12

The ADHD Weasel Quiz

See the assessment

“Weasel Type” is weird enough that you remember it.

That matters. People leave with language they may tell somebody else, post about, Google again later or use to describe themselves.

Steal this

Give your methodology names that sound unmistakably yours.

Thinking about what this could look like in your business?

We design custom assessments, quizzes and diagnostics around your IP, offers and buyers.

Jamie Sea x 2: Find Your Visibility Archetype & Discover Your Money Map

See the Visibility assessment
Content creator archetype quiz showing The Voice, The Guide, The Curator and The Firestarter with the prompt 'Which are you?'

These both feel very Jamie Sea. While the visibility angle isn’t exactly original, Jamie makes it her own and uses this asset to feed her low ticket membership.

Inside the membership, she continually references the assessment and ties her members journey right to it.

The Money Map assessment is a paid assessment based on Human Design and Jamie pairs access with a $27 workshop on the same topic.

She feeds both assessments with organic social posts and a ManyChat flow that directs to either.

Steal this

Start with your IP. The quiz should feel difficult for a competitor to copy without obviously copying you.

14

Patrick Lencioni: The 6 Types of Working Genius

See the assessment (paid)

Working Genius is probably one of the cleanest examples of an assessment creating language that lives well beyond the result page.

People talk about their Working Geniuses. Teams use the terminology together. Managers use it when dividing work. The assessment becomes a way of talking about the subject.

That’s powerful IP and all of it was derived from the very concepts and frameworks Pat Lencioni talks about in his best-selling business books.

Steal this

Create terminology customers can keep using after they close the tab.

15

What’s Your Generalist Archetype?

See the quiz

This helps someone figure out what kind of generalist they are and what makes you exceptional.

The appeal is partly recognition. A person may have spent years knowing they work differently without having particularly good language for why.

Then someone names it. Click. Also, points for the strong social proof on the landing page. Knowing 57,649 people have taken this quiz makes it impossible to join in.

Steal this

Look for experiences your audience recognizes immediately once somebody finally gives them a name.

16

Jen Kem: Brand Archetype Quiz

See the assessment

Brand archetypes aren’t new and there are countless quizzes and assessments that will tell you yours, but few are as detailed as this one.

This assessment makes an existing concept personal and immediately applicable.

Worth remembering when you’re developing your own idea. You don’t necessarily need to invent an entirely new theory of human behavior.

You may have a very good way of helping people apply an existing idea.

Steal this

Your IP can live in the diagnostic process, not only in the underlying concept.

17

Read Your Color

See the assessment

As an avid reader, this is maybe my favorite assessment in the whole list. It’s refreshingly original. The creator offers a list of reading reccs based on a color assigned to your literary preferences.

The results are the kind that you save and refer back to again and again. I discovered this assessment from one of the many viral TikTok’s Steven Reese created to promote it.

Steal this

Design the output as carefully as the questions and don’t underestimate the power of organic social to carry a good idea for years to come.

18

Is Your Desire Actually Yours?

See the assessment

This tackles a pretty slippery question: Do I genuinely want the thing I’m pursuing?

That’s hard to answer with a checklist.

A structured series of questions can help somebody notice patterns in their own answers without pretending there’s a mathematically perfect score for desire.

Steal this

Assessments can bring structure to subjective topics too.

19

Sacred Business Harmony Map

See the assessment

This maps how someone perceives the relationship between themselves, their business and their spiritual framework.

It works because it speaks the audience’s language. An assessment doesn’t have to sound like Deloitte made it.

Clinical language makes sense for some businesses. Mystical language makes sense for others and immediately qualifies whether someone is a fit for your worldview.

Steal this

The format can still sound completely like your brand.

20

Personal Development School: Attachment Style Quiz

See the quiz
Personal Development School free attachment style quiz landing page with device mockups

Attachment is personal. Taking a quiz privately is a much easier first step than getting on a call and telling a stranger about your relationship patterns.

This is one of the more interesting use cases for assessment funnels. Some subjects come with shame, vulnerability or privacy concerns. Self-assessment gives people a lower-pressure way in.

Steal this

If someone feels uncomfortable discussing the problem openly, give them a private way to investigate it first.

21

FLO Living: Hormone Health Assessment

See the assessment

This organizes someone’s reported symptoms into patterns and recommendations.

One detail I like is that the recommendations on the result page feel directly connected to information the person just supplied.

That sounds obvious but plenty of “personalized” funnels ask 12 questions and then dump everybody onto basically the same result page.

People notice.

Steal this

Let people see why their answers produced the recommendation they received.

22

Shimmer Effect Assessment

See the assessment

This takes a huge cultural conversation around fragmented internet attention and makes it personal.

“The internet is wrecking our attention” is interesting.

“What has it done to mine?” gets the click.

There are dozens of conversations happening right now that could be treated this way.

  • AI readiness.
  • Creator burnout.
  • Business dependence on social platforms.
  • Financial resilience.
  • Digital privacy.
Steal this

Find a conversation your audience is already having and help them locate themselves inside it.

23

The Habit: Mind Body State Quiz

See the assessment
The Habit's Ayurvedic Mind/Body State quiz with a four-step assess, reflect, recalibrate and reawaken process

This takes a fairly complicated mind-body framework and gives someone an individualized result.

Useful if your methodology normally requires a 30-minute explanation before somebody understands why they should care.

An assessment can let them experience part of the methodology first. Carly also does a brilliant job of driving social traffic to this quiz and has had viral reels lead to tens of thousands of new subscribers.

Steal this

If your framework takes forever to explain, find a way for someone to use it before they fully understand it.

24

Erotic Blueprint

See the assessment

Jaiya’s Erotic Blueprint work gives people language for patterns around desire and erotic connection.

Again, privacy matters. Someone might desperately want insight into this while having absolutely no desire to discuss their sex life with anyone else.

The assessment gives them somewhere to begin on their own. Jaiya’s landing page also offers safety in saying 2,321,000 have taken this quiz.

Steal this

Sensitive problem + high curiosity can be a killer assessment combination.

25

Her First $100K: Free Money Plan Quiz

See the assessment

Money comes with baggage.

Behavioral and identity-based questions give someone a way to notice their patterns without making the whole experience feel like a financial literacy test they’re about to fail.

The best result creates a little recognition moment: Ahhh. Yep. I do that. And ideally, it gives them somewhere useful to go from there. Tori has been diligently driving organic social traffic to this asset for YEARS and it shows with over 1,393,437 having taken it.

Steal this

Make diagnosis feel clarifying, not shaming.

26 · Where this is heading

Jim Carter III: Creator AI Scorecard

See the Creator AI Scorecard
Jim Carter III's Creator AI Scorecard landing page with a Claude before-and-after writing demo

Okay, THIS one is why I wanted to update this list for 2026.

It runs inside Claude.

It asks questions about your business.

Analyzes an actual writing sample.

Assigns an AI maturity score.

Calculates an opportunity-cost estimate.

Recommends your next move.

Then it generates a personalized Claude skill based on your business and voice that you can keep using.

You leave with an assessment result and a piece of working software.

It points toward where I think this whole category is going.

Your assessment could use someone’s answers to:

  • Build their plan.
  • Generate a creative brief.
  • Write a starting strategy.
  • Create a custom prompt.
  • Create an AI skill.
  • Calculate an opportunity.
  • Choose their priorities.
  • Recommend an offer stack.
  • Analyze something they upload.
  • Produce a useful artifact specific to them.

At that point, the free experience starts getting pretty close to a mini consulting engagement.

Steal this

Ask what you could make for someone using the information they just gave you.

What I want you to steal from these

Pay the most attention to the mechanisms:

  • One exposes a hidden cost.
  • Another gives someone an identity that makes them feel seen.
  • Another tells someone whether they’re ready for a 7-figure offer.
  • Another turns a cultural conversation into a personal score.
  • Another gives someone a private way to explore sex and intimacy.
  • Some route people toward the right offer.
  • Some turn an entire methodology into language customers start repeating.
  • And Jim Carter’s even generates a personalized piece of software.

There is a huge amount of room to play here.

Your audience already has information. Help them filter how it applies to them.

While they’re getting that answer, your business is learning too.

  • Who’s in your audience.
  • What they want.
  • Where they’re stuck.
  • What they’ve tried.
  • How far along they are.
  • What language they use.
  • Which offer makes sense.
  • What someone needs to understand before they’re ready to buy.

The only limits are your imagination.

Already thinking about creating a quiz or assessment for your business?

Maybe you’ve got…

  • An old quiz you built 3 years ago that’s quietly collecting dust.
  • A body of IP you’ve never figured out how to turn into a compelling free experience.
  • 3 different offers and buyers who keep asking which one they need.
  • A diagnostic you already do manually with every client.
  • A methodology that makes perfect sense once someone hires you and is annoyingly difficult to explain before they do.
  • A pile of audience information you aren’t collecting.
  • An ambitious idea that would’ve required $50K in custom development a few years ago and suddenly feels very buildable.

There’s an assessment idea somewhere in there.

At Authority Assessments, we build custom assessments, quizzes, diagnostics, and email journeys for experts, creators and education businesses.

  • Concept.
  • Strategy.
  • Questions.
  • Scoring and logic.
  • Results.
  • Personalization.
  • Data capture.
  • Buyer journey.
  • Funnels and segmentation.

And where it makes sense, custom code and AI so the experience can go far beyond Which type are you?

If you want to chat through your IP, offers and buyers journey and figure out what yours could be…
